Figure Ground is a network of artists working in the public realm, founded by a group of artistsÂ’ who came together as former recipients of Art Plus awards from Arts Council England. Current Figure Ground members are Jack Brown, Katy Beinart and Jo Thomas. Between 2014-2015 Figure Ground undertook a Public Art Road Trip.
A website and publication based on their trip will be launched on 22nd September 2017 at Primary, Nottingham.

In 2012, Figure Ground presented a workshop and talk at The Home and The World, a conference on public art at Dartington College.

In 2011, Figure Ground organised a mini-residency on the LV21 Lightship, in Kent, inviting artists to make collaborative work in response to the spaces on the ship.

In 2009, Figure Ground organised a series of events for artists working in the public realm, to provide opportunities to network and collaborate, in locations around the South East. The aim was to make opportunities for artists working in public to get together and debate key issues relating to their practice, in a format that is open, participatory and creative.
