Correspondences: a conversation about art, memory and heritage is an event hosted by the Centre for Memory, Narrative and Histories at the University of Brighton which invites Prof Rachel Garfield, Dr Ben Gidley and Prof Tim Ingold to ‘correspond’ with Katy and Rebecca Beinart's recent work & exhibition at Five Years (online - see origination-project.info)

Current Research Project: Acts of transfer: sharing socially engaged practice

This Arts Council funded R & D project aims to explore how to represent socially engaged art projects so that the residue or legacy of a project can be learnt from and shared more widely. Katy is working with writer Lizzie Lloyd and 9 other artists and artist groups to document and represent their projects.

There will be an exhibition of films and writing from the project from 22nd Sept-3rd Oct 2021 at Phoenix Art Space, Brighton.

Current public art commission: Warners Textile Archive + Public Art in Braintree

In 2019 Katy began a public art commission for a new housing estate in Braintree, Essex, which draws on the history of the Warner's Textile Archive, based in Braintree. The project is bring installed on site in Spring 2021.
